South Florida Black Business Directory Coming to Your Desktop!
Local entrepreneurs collaborate on this comprehensive resource to promote black businesses

Fort Lauderdale, FL, September 28, 2016: Driven by the desire to foster community and grow business opportunity in the community, Fort-Lauderdale-based entrepreneurs Jimmy Nickerson and Crystal Mathis are leading a group of otherwise unconnected concerned Black community members (aka The South Florida Black Business Directory group) in an effort to produce the South Florida Black Business Directory. The directory is a comprehensive listing of Black entrepreneur based in the three (3) primary counties that constitute South Florida – Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade. The directory will be launched later this year, and the South Florida Black Business Directory group is now soliciting Black-owned businesses to add their information to the directory at no cost by simply visiting www.sflblackbusinessdirectory.com and adding their business information.

Supporters of the initiative gather each Monday evening at 7:00 PM at Gigi’s Music Café, located at 4385 N.W. 88th Avenue in Sunrise, to plan, coordinate communications, and to network. Anyone interested in participating in developing the directory is invited to attend.

Born out of the #BlackLivesMatter Movement that has made its impact on the South Florida community, Nickerson and Mathis decided that the time had come to create a comprehensive resource to unify the community in a financially beneficial way.

“We are confident that a directory listing Black entrepreneurs will result in the emergence of more Black Owned Businesses (BOBs), allow the dollar to circulate in the Black community longer and make it easier for non-Blacks to find and support our Black culture and Black enterprise,” says Mathis.

The #SFLBBD launch event is scheduled for October 9, 2016, and interested brands are invited to sponsor the event as we introduce Professional Minded 2, LLC’s marketing/branding concept tool. The PM2 Logo Bar is customized to display business logos, create brand expansion and generate sponsorship dollars for the event. All sponsoring brands will have their logo displayed on the PM2 Logo Bar which is turn will put their company in front of an active community of Black leaders who are ready to do business. To be invited to the launch event or for more information, please email sflblackbusinessdirectory@gmail.com.
